The principle owner of Butler Street Foundry and Iron is John T. Lamonica. The business was
founded in 1891 and has continued to be a Mom and Pop operation over the years. We now fabricate
steel and do high end architectural iron work. Recent accomplishments are the Buckingham Fountain
Fence completed 2009 and part of the cast iron restoration of the Sullivan Center. We are also Chicago’s oldest Blacksmith shop. The bridge crane has 60′ span, lifts 20 tons and has a 25′ working height.
John graduated from the School of the Art Institute in foundry. He also attended John Campbell Folk
School for Blacksmithing. butlerstreetfoundry.com has alway been a family business founded by John’s ancestors and still remains a family run Mom and Pop shop to this day. We proudly put food on local craftspeople family table. The place has a long history and a good future. Butler street does custom fabrication and and architectural restoration work. Come on down and get acquainted with the shop.
The easiest way to get there is to get off on 35th street and head past Sox park. Go under the railway
bridge and turn North at the first street and go to the end of the block and park. On the west is a brick building. You are there. Wipe your feet and come in.
Please rsvp about pizza by Friday, January 22and to johnlamonica@sbcglobal.net and
mikehelbing@gmai.com. We need to know if you want some from Connie”s Pizza and
wether you like veggie, meat or combo. We will pitch in the pot to cover costs.
BYOB drinks are the order but John said that he will have rooter on hand.
Thanks

This is a pickup truck that I have had for 12 years. It has hauled sculptures all over the country and will do so for many more years. It has a factory installed tow package. This includes an oil cooler for the transmission and a heavy-duty differential. Blue has a 5.7 L engine and an automatic transmission. The automatic is rated for towing 5,700 lbs. It has an extended cab and a long bed. Over the years I have maintained the mechanicals and had service done as needed. At 160,000 mile I had the engine and heater hoses replaced and all the trucks filters changed including the fuel filter. The bearings were replaced on the front and rear axles and the seals were also. The drive shaft universals were replaced along with the carrier bearing at this time. The transmission was serviced with all filters and inspected and adjusted. The rear differential was serviced and the oil replaced. The radiator was replaced at about 120,000. Front end components were replaced including the tie rod ends and Pittman arm at about 170,000 and the truck was aligned. It is tight in the steering and tracks straight down the road. The air-conditioning and the cruise control makes for a truck that will run down the highway. It has a factory installed Reese hitch system. I had the windshield wiper motor replaced along with the turn signal switch a couple of years ago. The in-tank fuel pump was replaced last summer along with the brake master cylinder. This engine has a recommended service tune up schedule of every 100,000 miles. I had that done at 75,000 and 160,000 so it won’t need one until about 240k to 260k. It has platinum plugs good for 100,000 miles. The tires were replaced last summer and are good for about 60,000 miles. They are all season radial heavy duty light truck tires. It is a 2 wheel drive that gets about 10-12mpg in the city and 16-17mpg highway. I have kept up with things as they have needed repair and came as close as I could to zero timing the drive components as I could.
The asking price is $4,000 or best offer.
